Apple has just unveiled the new Mac Mini, its most affordable desktop computer. The 2024 update introduces a fresh design and a more powerful M4 chip. As anticipated by leaks, including a recent Amazon slip-up, the new Mac Mini lives up to the hype. Priced from $599 (Rs 59,900 in India), it is available for pre-order starting today, with general availability set for November 8.
Apple M4 Mac Mini: Specifications and Features
Measuring just 5×5 inches, the new Mac Mini is half the size of the M2 model released earlier in 2023, making it extremely space-efficient. Despite its compact form, Apple claims that advanced thermal architecture and energy-efficient M4 silicon ensure high performance without overheating.
The M4 Mac Mini features a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, with a base configuration of 16GB unified memory. Apple states it delivers 1.8x faster CPU and 2.2x faster GPU performance compared to the M1 model. The M4 Pro version comes with a 14-core CPU, 20-core GPU, and supports up to 64GB of memory, making it ideal for demanding tasks such as AI workloads and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

Both M4 & M4 Pro variants feature an HDMI port, Ethernet port, a headphone jack, 2 USB-C ports on front & 3 Thunderbolt ports (which are also USB-C) on the back side.
