Rodri, Manchester City and Spain midfielder, was awarded the 2024 Ballon d’Or on Monday after an outstanding season, where he secured major titles for both his club and country. The 28-year-old was instrumental in helping Manchester City clinch their fourth consecutive Premier League title last season and was named Player of the Tournament at Euro 2024, where Spain triumphed in Germany.

Rodri received the prestigious award during a ceremony at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, organized by France Football magazine in partnership with UEFA. He became the first Premier League player to win the Ballon d’Or since Cristiano Ronaldo claimed it in 2008, during his time at Manchester United. Additionally, Rodri is the second Spanish male player to win the award, following Barcelona legend Luis Suárez, who won it in 1960.
“A very special day for me, my family, and my country,” Rodri said. “I know people don’t know me well because I’m not on social media. I’m just a normal guy who enjoys football and my profession. I try to be a good person and stay calm.”
